Library Gear (including online reference books)

Looking for a book in a specific category? Need some help finding information – “check out” these library sites!

Annabelle’s Quotation Guide - A wonderful place to visit if a quotation is needed for a paper – much easier than Bartleby’s site.

Authors4teens.com - Need a good book? Wondering what else Will Hobbs has written besides Jason’s Gold? Try it out!

BrainyQuote - Allows users to search for quotations multiple ways and also provides an inspirational quote of the day.

Dewey Browse - Allows students the ability to look up information by category – e.g. Social Studies, Literature, etc. Great tool.

Encyclopedia.com - This general encyclopedia site gives short, easy to read articles. Links readers to other references, but those may require payment or registration.

Internet Public Library Teen Space - Provides a listing of “teen appropriate” links on many topics – definitely young adult information here.

Internet Public Library Kid Space -  Same type of topic divisions, but aimed at a younger crowd.

Merriam-Webster Online The BEST online dictionary!

The Multnomah County Library Homework Center - Offers link to reliable sites on everything from Geography to Sports. Great trivia, too.
