Cells Alive! - Many types of cells and their internal workings displayed for students. Includes video clips.

Chemical Elements - An interactive periodic table which gives information on individual elements.

Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Student Page - Ecosystems, conservation and water topics, along with other topics, put together from the US Government.

Extreme Science - A science link page covering everything from news to weather.

How Stuff Works - This Web site contains everything that could possibly relate to Science. The menu bar for each subtopic runs across the top of page – the pop culture in the PeopleStuff category is trivial and fun.

Neartica - Information regarding “The natural world of North America”.

NSDL Scout Reports - Great resources for students on many different science topics.

ScienceNews Online - ScienceNews has been digitized! Great for Science current event assignments, but only gives full magazine access to subscribers. If you want full access to past issues – use EBSCO.

Castles of Britain - Ignore the “tourist-y” stuff! The page is broken down into helpful categories, such as “castles with ghosts”! This is ONLY British castles.

Castles on the Web - World locales for castles. Also covers many types of mythology, medieval studies, heraldry and weaponry. Watch out for information overload!

The CIA World Factbook - Includes facts and figures required for country reports.

Don’t Buy It! - Put together by PBS, this site presents ways in which media sources manipulate teens.

Columbia Newsblaster - Collects news articles from e-sources (boston.com., msnbc.com, cnn.com, etc.). Categorizes “hot issues”, as well as placing news in its site of origin. Great for Social Studies current event papers!

United States House of Representatives - Main page of the United States House of Representatives. Supreme Court of the United States - The home page of the Supreme Court

The United Nations CyberSchool Bus - Political information displayed in an easy to understand format. Country specific information is at students’ fingertips.

Hurricane Hunters - The non-profit Hurricane Hunters Society manages this site. I love the section showing planes flying directly into hurricanes!

Miami Museum of Science Hurricane Page - Great weather stuff – check out the rest of the Museum page – great info!

National Geographic Kids Hurricane Site - Ok, ok – so it’s a little bit young-ish for Middle School. The facts in this site are laid out clearly and are easy to understand. Always a plus!
