Text Box: LOW ELEMENTS

Universal Nitro Swing: Low Element
Participants begin on a small “sailboat” trolley (a board suspended from 4 ropes) at one end of a “raging river” and must safely cross over the river to dry land. The only tools they have are each other and the trolley.
Lessons: coming up with a plan; including everyone; creative problem-solving; looking out for one another; planning through to the end; coordinating two groups at a time; listening to everyone’s suggestions

TP Shuffle: Low Element
The group is split in half and each half attempts to traverse a long log on the ground without falling off. At some point participants must cross each other. 
Lessons: proper spotting techniques; maintaining safety when there is a lot going on; anticipating what is coming next

Tension Triangle: Low Element
The group is split in half and each group begins traversing cables set up in a triangle, eventually crossing each other, without falling off. The only tools they have are each other and two ropes. 
Lessons: coordinating a group; working as a unit; helping others; supporting others; communication between groups

Universal Teeter Totter: Low Element
The group attempts to balance themselves on top of a large wooden platform so that the platform touches the ground as few times as possible. Once balanced, the group can also be challenged to move around while maintaining a balance.
Lessons: balancing; pressure; equality; taking things slowly; not blaming others; dealing with your frustrations


PROBLEM-SOLVING & TRUST-BUILDING INITIATIVES

Jurassic Park: Problem-Solving Initiative
Participants must work together to “break the code” and get their group through a turning jump rope successfully.
Lessons: trial and error; handling your frustration; not blaming others; including everyone

Keypunch: Problem-Solving Initiative
Participants must work together to “break the code” and tap a series of spots in order in the shortest amount of time possible.
Lessons: trial and error; listening to others suggestions; setting goals; maintaining quality; honesty

Stepping Stones: Problem-Solving Initiative
Participants try to cross over an area using “stones”; and without touching the ground. 
Lessons: clear communication; planning; coordinating lots of people; creative thinking; sharing resources

Star Wars: Problem-Solving Initiative
Participants are given resources which are slowly taken away and they must keep everyone “alive” as the resources diminish.
Lessons: diminishing resources; creative thinking; sharing; thinking outside the box

Trolley Skis: Problem-Solving Initiative
Using two long logs with ropes in them, participants try to walk as a group on the trolley skis from Point A to Point B.
Lessons: coordination; working together; communicating clearly; getting a system down; quality control
