One of my favorite things that happened this quarter was when I went to the ropes course. I thought it was great. At first I was a little scared, but then I got the hang of it. After I got on the log I took three steps forward and got down. I waited a while to let other people go and then I went again. When I started I just wanted to make it half way. I reached my goal and wanted to get down. I let the other person go down because they were up longer than I was . They got se tot come down and when they did the rope hit my helmet. I started to fall back but then, I grabbed the other person’s rope to keep my balance. When the other person got down to the ground I changed my mind and decided to keep going and tried to make it all the way across the log. When I got back to the ground I was so happy!  I thought it was the best day of this quarter. This was my favorite day of second quarter.

I have to admit when I heard that we were going on the ropes course I got a little nervous. The first day we went on it we didn't climb, but we did find out some good strategies for working as a group and some great communication skills. On the high ropes day last week was a bit scared to go to the course but when I got there I was fine. I remember putting on the harnesses and helmets. I knew it would be a day to remember. I thinking it is great thatCMS has a ropes course, it shows us good skills in communication and teamwork. The high ropes got me to know more people and give me more strength for the rest of the year.

My friend and I walk into a clearing the woods and can't wait to get started on the high  ropes course. Today is our day to go on it! As we learn to put on the harnesses we joke around. The harnesses are not very comfortable, though we knew we need them. Would any of us go on these objects without ropes? I think not! As we head over to our first obstacle, a log, we learn just how challenging it can be. On the first element we are all a bit afraid that we are going to fall. We learn how to belay s, or how to manage so that no one gets hurt. As It seems hard at first, but was we go on we get more confident.  Then we move on to the next activity. My favorite part of the ropes course is falling. All you have to do is jump! My ropes course experience was great, and I had a lot of fun. I learned that we all have to work together for this, and if we don't, then nothing can happen. This I can definitely related to the classroom, because sometimes people don't want to work on projects and someone tried to do it all. This doesn't' work very well, but on the ropes course you can't do that. I also learned to take some risks. I had decide to fall but then pushed myself to reach the flag...I am glad I decided to touch it! This was a great experience and I hope we get to do more of it.
